Oh well, to the matter at hand. This programs appeared in the mid 2000’s and has become very popular.
The diet is based on an online generator that will create daily meal plans based on your food preferences. The diet follows a 14 day cycle – 11 days of planned meals, followed by 3 days of “cheat” meals.
The food is made up of lean proteins, fruit and vegetables, and the sources of fat come from whole foods (such as cottage cheese or eggs). There are some starchy carbohydrates (such as oats and pasta). The day is divided into 4 meals that should be eaten at a minimum of 2 1/2 hours apart.
There is no calorie or carb counting, no prepackaged food, and no limit on portion size. You simply eat until you are almost full. And then you stop! The 3 days of cheat meals consist of eating whatever you want. Then you are back into the 11 day plan again… repeat the diet until you reach your desired weight.
As far as exercise goes, they recommend you to walk 45 minutes each day or two 30 minutes session. That’s a novel idea, burn some of your calories through exercise.
Fat Loss 4 Idiots claims you can lose 9 pounds every 11 days. Although this diet will be effective, I have serious doubts about this being true. Even if it were, that would have to be a lot of lean mass and water weight.
- Personal menus are provided.
- The diet changes constantly to prevent boredom.
- Initial weight loss can be significant.
- No exercise requirement.
- Weight loss claims will appear to be inflated.
- Initial weight loss is mostly water.
This diet uses a common sense approach to weight loss and delivers meal plans. However, there is no research to back up their claims concerning the successfulness of the program. Nor does there seem to be online support or recipes. This is a diet for budget conscious dieters, but it will work, you can count on that.
