The 3 hour diet pros and cons.

Simply don’t eat anything for three hours and you will lose 4 pounds a day!

Jorge Cruise 3 Three Hour Diet abridged compact discsSorry, I hope you didn’t really believe that.

The 3 Hour Diet is an actual weight loss plan designed by an actual person, Jorge Cruise.

He is a world renowned fitness trainer best known for developing a short workout system called the “8 Minute Series”.

This plan is as simple as it sounds, you eat every three hours (Now, this is a plan you can sink your teeth into, so to speak).

The premise is this: you eat five meals a day and can even eat some junk food.

If you don’t eat often enough, Cruise explains, your body goes into “starvation protection” mode, conserving calories, storing fat, and burning muscle (not fat) for energy.

He says that if you eat every 3 hours, you repeatedly reset your metabolism so it stays in high gear, and you burn fat all day long.

Breakfast should be eaten within an hour of rising and you should stop eating 3 hours before going to bed.

But don’t get too excited yet.  There are recommended portion sizes.

On the 3 Hour Diet Meals should average 400 calories; snacks, 100 calories; and dessert, 50 calories (that’s a small dessert), for a total of about 1,450 calories a day.

What Can I Eat On The 3 Hour Diet?

So what do you get to eat? Well Cruise says eat whatever you want.

His motto is that there are no bad foods, only bad timing and bad servings.

He believes that banning your favorite foods will make it impossible to stay on a sensible eating plan and is a huge mistake.

Food groups should always be combined – i.e. protein should be eaten with carbohydrates and fat (and fruit and vegetables where possible).

Cruise also recommends drinking 8 glasses of water per day.

How Much Weight Will I Lose?

Jorge Cruise claims a weight loss of 2 pounds per week (without exercise) can be expected.

He does recommend exercise – unsurprisingly this recommendation is for 8 minutes every day!

Pros:

  • The diet can be access via computer 24 hours a day.
  • No restrictions on the type of food you can eat.
  • Exercise is recommended although not very enthusiastically.

Cons:

  • Can be expensive.
  • Some dieter may prefer offline programs.
  • No success stories on web site.

Conclusion:

The 3 Hour Diet is a weight loss diet that focuses on sensible portion control with a scheduled eating schedule.

There are no special foods required which saves you money.  Also, no supplements are required for success.

It is a simple low-calorie eating plan with little effort required on your part.

The best thing for dieters is that there are no restrictions on the types of foods you can eat which makes it much easier to stay on than other weight loss plans.  3 hour diet clock

It does require planning as you will be eating every 3 hours and must be prepared. This could be a problem if are not organized.

The 3 Hour Diet has no exercise requirement but it is a no-brainer that working out will speed up your weight loss dramatically and help maintain the weight loss.

Don’t skip this step.

Much of the material in this book is based on science. Eating every three hours will keep your metabolism higher and help you burn more calories at rest.

Unfortunately, there are also a few non-science statements in this book such as you will burn two pounds a week and it will be belly fat.

There is no such thing as spot reducing. There is also no mention of calorie counting, just portion size. In addition, not enough emphasis is placed on avoiding processed foods.

Despite the problems, it would be a good starting point for many dieters as they begin the process of learning how to eat correctly. I say it would be a good idea to give The 3 Hour Diet a try….
