Burn The Fat, (Feed The Muscle) has been around almost as long as the internet.  It was actually first released way back in 2003 as one of the first diet e-books ever published.

My, how times have changed as now we are bombarded with weight loss books, videos, products, supplements, surgery and more pills than you could swallow in 10 lifetimes.

However, the cool thing about Burn The Fat is that it basically stays the same.  It contains timeless information that is as relevant today as it was 10 years ago.

And unlike most of the alternatives above, this program doesn’t promise unrealistic weight loss or even fat reduction that is easy.

This program is the creation of Tom Venuto who has a degree in exercise science and is a natural bodybuilder (no steroids or drugs taken!).

Check out these fat related weight loss programs.

He created a program with an extremely large amount of information that will help you lose fat as well as increase your lean body mass.

Venuto admits in his book he has never been obese but does claim to have struggled with stomach fat for many years.

He finally saw his abs after several years of hard work and trial and error.  In other words, he is similar to most of us in that he was not predisposed to a great body, he had to work for it.

The diet section of the 300+ page book breaks eating into three phases that increase in difficulty as you pass through each phase.

Venuto claims that you will never need to go beyond phase 1 unless you are planning to compete in a body-building contest (where do I sign up?).

You will learn how to set up a meal plan by using what is called a template system.  You get to choose the foods you like from a recommended food list and plug them into a template and viola; you will have done for you meal plans.

There are also sample menus provided for ideas.

As far as training, you will learn how to properly set up a training program.  You will be utilizing workouts used by top fitness competitors all around the world.

However, you do have the option to use your own training program as long as you follow the dietary guidelines.  You will be doing a combination of weight training and cardiovascular training.

One thing to remember is that there are no illustrations showing how to properly perform the exercises.  It is assumed that the reader is already knowledgeable in this area.

Finally, there is also an emphasis on how important the mind is when training.  This mental training chapter is left out of most programs but it is invaluable when trying to lose weight.  You will learn goal setting, motivation and much more.

Pros:

  • Focuses on long-term weight loss
  • Meal plans included along with recipes
  • Emphasizes exercise
  • Avoids drugs and supplements
  • Also focuses on mental training.

Negatives:

  • Book may be too long for some people.
  • No illustrations of exercises.

Conclusion:

This program is the real deal.  It doesn’t look for quick fixes, just focuses on building great eating and workout habits.  However, if you are a novice at working out, this will not be for you.  All others should invest in this program!
